A word from the artistic directors
Dear music-loving friends,
For the past four years, it has been with immense pleasure that we meet you at the beginning of each summer for a musical gathering at Saint-Eustache Church in La Feuillie. These shared moments are particularly precious to us, as our attachment to this region and village is very strong.
Encouraged by your enthusiastic feedback, we have decided to take a new step and are delighted to invite you to the first edition of the La Feuillie Classic festival, which will take place from July 4 to July 6, 2025.
Our ambition is to continue offering exceptional musical experiences in La Feuillie. Each year, to help you discover the greatest masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire, we will invite top artists from around the world and from all generations. Intergenerational exchange will be a hallmark of our festival, where renowned artists, rich with years of experience at the highest level, will meet young musicians at the start of their careers.
For this first edition, four concerts will be scheduled over three days. We will have the honor of welcoming the great violinist Augustin Dumay, violist Paul Zientara — recently nominated at the Victoires de la Musique — and the eclectic pianist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, who will be joined by his son Daniel, a brilliant 18-year-old violinist.
We are also eager to offer a beautiful birthday celebration for Maurice Ravel, marking the 150th anniversary of his birth.
We will inaugurate a new musical event, "An Hour with...", a concert dedicated to a particular instrument, performer, or ensemble. Exceptional guitarist Philippe Mouratoglou will introduce us to his instrument and musical universe.
We also aim to highlight young musical creation by commissioning a new work each year from a composer under 30, which will premiere at the festival. For this edition, Swiss composer (and cellist!) Cyprien Lengagne, aged 24, will present a brand-new piece at the opening concert and share chamber music performances with us all.
Finally, the festival asserts its social vocation by reaching out to all audiences, both within the village and throughout the surrounding region.
The artists will perform at the EHPAD (care home) in La Feuillie, bringing music to the heart of living spaces.
Primary and middle school students will have the opportunity to attend general rehearsals and interact with the musicians, thus discovering the world of classical music in a lively and accessible way.
The festival will also support village life by donating part of the profits to the association dedicated to the preservation of the church.
On a regional scale, a musical event will take place at the Danone factory in Ferrières-en-Bray, offering employees a moment of artistic sharing and a breath of fresh air in their professional lives.
We look forward to seeing many of you for this exceptional musical weekend! For more details, feel free to check the full program on our website.
See you very soon in music!
Henri and Victor Demarquette
